Bay Creek Resort & Club will host the third Bay Creek Amateur on Saturday, July 31, 2010 and Sunday, August 1, 2010. The 2-day event consists two rounds of stroke play, one on the Arnold Palmer Signature Course and one on the Jack Nicklaus Signature course. This year, the Amateur is a VSGA points event which is a testament to the quality of the course and conditioning along with the first class treatment the participants receive.  
 
According to Joe Burbee, Director of Golf, "the Bay Creek Amateur is one of the premier amateur events for golfers from the mid-Atlantic region and beyond who want to experience the thrill of competing against players with similar skill levels on two of the best courses you’ll find anywhere. And, our staff will conduct a first class tournament." The annual event is open to all male golfers with a valid USGA handicap and will be flighted based on handicap index.
 
The tournament Chairman is Bay Creek member and lifelong Eastern Shore resident Joe Restein. Joe is an accomplished amateur who plays in many tournaments around the world. He is the driving force behind the Bay Creek Amateur and it is his passion and attention to details that make the event so enjoyable to play in. Said Joe Burbee, "With his many experiences playing in high caliber tournaments, Mr. Restein makes sure the participants are treated right and that course is set up in a fair but challenging way. Everyone that played last year said they had a great time and it was one of the best events they ever played in. I think Jack himself would love it!"

Eligibility
Open to male golfers of all ages. Participants must have a VSGA/USGA handicap index established at a VSGA member Club and meet the USGA Rules of Amateur Status.

Format
Thirty-Six Holes of Individual Stroke Play Competition. All play will be on the Arnold Palmer Signature Course and the Jack Nicklaus Signature Course.

Entry - Entry Form PDF - Please fill and return before July 25, 2010.
The entry fee is $180 per player and that includes two rounds of tournament play, practice balls and lunch both days. 

Prizes
Prizes will be awarded based on the size of the field and the number of flights. The purse will be approximately $7,000 based on a field of 100 players. There is an optional practice round available anytime prior to the event for $30 for registered participants.

Dear Amateur Golfer:

Please accept your invitation to compete in the Bay Creek Amateur Tournament. This event will be played on both the Arnold Palmer Signature Course and the Jack Nicklaus Signature Course at Bay Creek Resort & Club. Both courses will provide a strong test for all competitors and will be in excellent condition for this premier amateur event. Last year, players from four different states competed. We anticipate a strong demand, so please return your application and entry fee as quickly as possible.
